MRC Volunteer Rules and Regulations

All volunteers accepted by the MRC will abide by the policies, rules, and regulations of Tooele County and the Tooele County Health Department.

All volunteers must complete an application before being accepted into the MRC.

All volunteers will sign a waiver allowing the Tooele County MRC and/or the Tooele County Health Department to review their applications and investigate their competency and ability to serve on the MRC.   All volunteers must sign a waiver so they can ride as passengers in Tooele County vehicles.

In conjunction with the waivers explained above, all members will complete a criminal background check. Fees for the background check will be paid for by the Tooele County Health Department.

After reviewing an application, the MRC Advisory Board and/or Tooele County Health Department will interview interested volunteers and determine which roles they will fill. Placement will be reviewed annually and changes may be made at any point in time. The MRC Advisory Board and/or Tooele County Health Department will determine who is accepted and rejected from membership.

While serving on the MRC, all volunteers will be covered under the Utah State Workmen's Compensation Fund..  Protection will also be provided through a variety of formats:
1. Volunteer Protection Act
2. Utah Good Samaritan Act
3. Utah Association of Counties Liability Risk Pool

During the above mentioned survey and placement process, the Tooele County Health Officer will determine the scope of practice for MRC members who held professional licenses in good standing within the past 10 years but no longer maintain those licenses. Such members will be added to the MRC database under the heading of an emergency license, which can be activated during a national, state or locally declared emergency. A list of MRC members with such emergency licenses will be shared with the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, as required by UCA26A-1-126 and 58-1-307.

Members will be given an identification badge which includes:
--Name and Photo
--Color Coded position/assignment
--Certification and licenses
--Microchip encoded with credentials

MRC members may be dismissed  by the MRC Advisory Board for cause.
